Don’t Fade Away out now on Vulture Music
April 6, 2012

Back in 2009 at Winter Music Conference in Miami, myself, Rachael and Joshua set out on a mission to meet one of our biggest musical heros and a huge influence on the Human Life project. I am of course speaking of french touch legend Alan Braxe.
At that time we were very excited because we had just signed on with a European booking agent (although we hadn’t played any gigs yet). One of the artists signed to this same booking agency was Mr. Braxe, so we took a shot in dark and asked our agent to see if Alan might be interested in meeting us as we were on the same agency (well…. just BARELY on the agency!)
We were very surprised to hear that Mr. Braxe was open to the idea and within a few hours we were having a drink with our musical hero. We came to find that Alan was a really nice guy and we quickly became friends.
Over the course of that week in Miami our mission was to hand out a demo CD of unsigned Human Life tracks hoping that someone might want to sign some of them. On this CD was a demo of ‘In It Together’ among many other tracks including a very rough sketch of what would become the track we just released, ‘Dont Fade Away’. We handed this CD out to every label we could get in front of and were hoping we’d have offers coming in and labels fighting over the tracks. Once we got back though… surprise surprise…. nobody cared!
After dusting off our bruised egos we decided to release some of the tracks ourselves (which prompted us to start our label ‘LIFEX Recordings’). But as we were preparing our self-releases we recieved an unexpected email…. Mr. Alan Braxe is interested in releasing our track ‘Don’t Fade Away’ on his label Vulture music!!
If you aren’t that familiar with Vulture, it has hosted some amazing releases over the years… from Alan Braxe and Fred Falke’s ‘Intro’ to Lifelike & Kris Menace’s ‘Discopolis‘ and many more. Naturally we were honored to have the opportunity to join these amazing artists on the label.
Fast forward to the present and after some feedback from Mr. Braxe himself, the Human Life release on Vulture Music is ready for consumption. The E.P. features remixes from Shook and Kartell and also includes a freshly minted remix from Human Life as well. This release marks the last that was produced together with Joshua, Rachael and myself. The original track harks back to the roots and beginnings of the Human Life project, while the “Human Life ‘E-Returns’ Remix” hints at the direction of the project moving forward in the future.
The release is available on Beatport or iTunes NOW
To celebrate we have decided to give away the Human Life remix for free. Dive in, download and please play it loud
